Found out a farmers market is held once a month in Harajuku called the Earth Day Market. Was expecting there to be hordes or produce, piles of zucchinis and fresh bake d bread, but instead found fresh gathered(?) honey, a variety of beans and rhubarb. The rhubarb is already queued up for a rhubarb pie that we’ll make either tomorrow or the day after.
The walk to the farmer’s market took us past a ton of street performers that I didn’t know existed. Meanwhile the bridge where all the goth people used to hang out is quietly being taken over people looking for free hugs. I think they are inspired by the video on YouTube, but it just doesn’t look like it’s flying here in Japan yet.
After the farmer’s market and playing around in Yoyogi–koen for an hour or so (frisbee / hackysack), went to the Mexican place in Nishi–ogikubo. Always awesome, always tasty. Go there. El Quixico.
